Just as you see a doctor regularly, drink enough water, and take vitamins to keep your health in check, your car also needs preventative maintenance services to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. At Tire Max, we place great emphasis on prevention so that you save time and money down the line on a major issue that could be resolved early with a spring check-up appointment. Depending on what your car or truck’s manufacturers recommended, this could mean stopping in to an auto repair shop every 30,000, 60,000, or even 90,000 to have a mechanic perform an inspection.
For nearly every type of vehicle, there are a few specific areas that our mechanics check during an inspection or tune-up appointment to determine whether or not it is in good shape. This includes your tires, power steering fluid, exhaust system, transmission, cabin & engine air filters, brakes, all wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems, and much more.
AIR FILTER REPLACEMENT
To keep your vehicle at its best, we recommend you replace your air filter whenever you get your oil changed. However, your environment should also be considered, since dirt roads can cause your air filter to wear more quickly than paved roads. The next time you get an oil change or notice your air filter performing poorly, our service staff can remove it and install a new one. We understand that a dirty air filter can prevent clean air and fuel from mixing correctly, so we’re always here with the right tools to install your new air filter.
FUEL INJECTION
If you are experiencing lean misfire, poor acceleration, or rough idling while driving, your fuel injection system may be to blame. When you encounter any of these issues or notice that your fuel injectors are clogged with dirt and grime, give us a visit. Our staff understands that dirty injectors can bring various problems to your vehicle, and we are equipped with the right tools for cleaning them to remove any build up in the nozzles of your injectors. Additionally, we can check the pressure and volume of your fuel pump and pressure regulator. While inspecting your vehicle’s fuel injection system, we can also examine fuel lines, fuel rails, throttle components, and fuel filters and ensure that your vehicle’s sensors are performing correctly.
OIL AND FILTER CHANGE
While oil runs through your vehicle’s system while driving, it is also collecting sludge, grime, and other contaminants that can harm the engine. In turn, the oil filter catches these contaminants to prevent them from mixing with the oil. However, the filter can only hold so much, and over time, the small bits and miscellaneous muck will break down the filter’s defenses. When this happens, the oil will get dirty and can cause permanent damage to some parts of your vehicle when left unchecked. At Tire Max, we regularly perform oil changes on customers’ cars and know just what to do to keep your vehicle running.
Vehicle components and parts naturally wear out over time, and road hazards can negatively impact some of the most critical components. By adhering to the preventive maintenance schedule in your vehicle owner’s manual, you will help ensure that your car or truck always runs at optimal conditions. Depending upon its service interval mileage, maintenance may include an inspection of your steering and suspension components, fluid filters, belts and hoses, brakes and axles, and other parts to help ensure that your vehicle functions efficiently. Routine maintenance may include checking the level of vital vehicle fluids.
Other maintenance items you may see in your owner’s manual include checking exterior and interior lights, examining windshield wiper blades, checking the battery, inspecting hinges and locks, reviewing the level of ball joint wear, checking exhaust system components, and checking tire wear and inflation levels, all of which the Tire Max team can happily perform for you.
